Chinese Drama Flipped, A Supernatural Romance

Today’s focus is the Chinese Drama ‘Flipped,’ which is a supernatural romance.

I haven’t personally watched the Chinese drama Flipped at other sources as I’m waiting for the episodes to be added to Viki. Yes, Flipped is officially licensed on Viki and is coming soon. How awesome has Viki been in the wake of DF closing? I know I’m so impressed with the content they’re offering. Of course, I could always use more, but I’ll try not to be too greedy.

If you can’t wait to watch, you can easily find some of the episodes on youtube. I’ve included a synopsis below as well as some trailers for anyone that has not started to watch this drama yet.

A beautiful love story that brings together many personalities like the domineering CEO, the warm heroine, the workplace beauty and many more. Shuang Shuang (Charlene Cheng) has grown a bit rebellious due to her dad’s strict upbringing. After running away from home, she crosses paths with Qi Xun (Gao Han Yu), the overwhelmingly talented, cold, overly sensitive young man with exceptional abilities. There’s a saying that goes like this, “This feeling of liking someone, even if you cover one’s mouth will still sparkle through the eyes because the world lights up when you see the one you like. -credit Viki

My Thoughts on Flipped…

I like dramas with a supernatural/fantasy touch sometimes. I only know a few Chinese words, so I can’t effectively understand a lot in the official trailer. However, I can sort of figure out some parts with the body language and scenes.

I found two trailers on youtube. Thankfully, someone was kind enough to translate into English. Thank you!

It seems like there will be a comedic note to Flipped, so I might have to check it out. I’ve really been enjoying lighter dramas this year. January has been crazy and I am not feeling melodramas at all right now, so I may continue into February with more upbeat dramas. I am adding this drama to my list as I really want to keep up with at least a few of the newer Chinese dramas airing this year.

I haven’t watched too many Chinese dramas overall, so as far as the actors and actresses, they are unknowns to me. It looks like Flipped will, hopefully, be a good time. I’m intrigued by the fact that Qi Xun can only transport to a location while looking at a physical picture. After transporting, he ends up getting bad headaches. I’m sure that the more frequently he teleports, that the headaches will become even worse. How will that be addressed/cured? I don’t know how Shuang Shuang will be able to cure him, but I’m along for the right.

Qi Xun also has some pretty cool special effects when he teleports. It’s only a trailer, so I can’t judge overall quality, but it seems solid so far. I’m intrigued by the trailers and have been somehow resisting from watching at unofficial sources.

Are you going to watch Flipped? Or are you already watching it on youtube? Let me know what you think below.

Please like, comment, subscribe to the blog, and/or feel free to share this post on social media. I always look forward to your comments and value your feedback.

If you’re still here, I have also posted about another c-drama: Well-Intended Love. I will be watching and, hopefully, discussing that dramas as well.

XOXO, Andrea.
