Poll: What Drama Should We Podcast Review Next?

(Left to right: Sanae Rak Nang Cin, Unexpected, The Ghost Detective, 100 Days My Prince, and The Smile Has Left Your Eyes.)

Hi, all!

A new podcast episode is coming this week. We will record it Thursday evening and I will try to edit and upload that same night. (If not, then Friday evening after work. I am prepping for a huge yard sale this weekend, so after work, my free time is really tied up at the moment.) We got a bit delayed due to more flooding in our area. Plus, Tiff has been feeling unwell, so I decided to postpone an episode until she was feeling better.

That said, we’d love to take on another drama to review through our podcast. What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim was a lot of fun to record, and judging by the amount of downloads/views, it seems you all enjoyed it as well.

Your support has been so humbling and overwhelming. It’s quite thrilling to know that our podcasts are engaging and keeping your interest. I never ever, in my wildest dreams, imagined that I’d be brave enough to actually record a podcast. And here we are… ready to do another review series through podcast. It’s an exciting new world for a shy person like me.

I’ve put together a poll with 3 upcoming k-dramas, an upcoming Chinese drama, and one already aired Lakorn. Please, please vote in the poll. What do you want to see reviewed on a podcast? The runner up will be reviewed in written form here at the blog. There really aren’t any losers as I’m likely to talk about all of these at some point.

This poll will only run until this Sunday, 9/9/18. Make sure to vote as we hope to pick up one of these projects and watch as soon as possible.

Also, I’ve included summaries and links to My Drama List with more details on these dramas.

Sanae Rak Nang Cin (Lakorn/Thai Drama): Prim is an orphan. She and her two best friends, Boot and Rita, work at one of P. Paul’s shoe stores and Prim dreams of becoming a shoe designer. After an incident, they get fired from their jobs and decide to go on vacation to Phuket. There, the girls attend a party while pretending to be rich. At the party they meet Phuree, Wat and Touch. They’re all rich and Phuree is the heir of P. Paul’s shoe brand.

Their relationship started as Phuree wanted to show that Prim and her buddies were deceivers, so the guys also lied about who they really are to get closer to the girls and lure them into confessing. But after spending so much time together, Phuree and Prim fell in love.

Though they confessed that they loved each other, things didn’t ended up. As Prim found out Phuree’s real identity and that he already had a fiancee. – credit My Drama List

Unexpected: (Chinese Drama) A manga artist, He Jie has entered into his own manga “Crystal Love” and he must complete the mission of saving the evil second female lead, turning her into a better person before he can return back to the real world. He ended up having to keep on filling up the loopholes of his own manga again and again, forming a funny love story. – credit My Drama List

The Ghost Detective: (K-Drama) Lee Da Il is a private investigator. Jung Yeo Wool becomes his assistant to solve a mystery related to her younger sibling’s death. They work together to solve other mysterious crimes. – credit My Drama List

100 Days My Prince: (K-Drama) Lee Yul is the Crown Prince of Joseon, a perfectionist who disregards the majority of those in the royal palace and appears to be cold and demanding, when in reality, he is lonely. He then passes the law that all women must marry before they reach the age of 30. Hong Shim is head of the first detective agency in Joseon, a strong, intelligent figure who takes on multiple jobs to support herself and her father. She is also the oldest unmarried woman in her village, and begins to look for a husband to avoid trouble from law officials.

In an attempted assassination, Lee Yul develops temporary amnesia and wanders around aimlessly as a commoner with no name or identity, until he meets none other than Hong Shim, who takes him under her care. Hong Shim is then forced to marry Won Deuk to save her village from drought, due to beliefs in that era where natural disasters are a result of an unmarried woman’s misery.

This drama depicts how the love story of Hong Shim, ‘Joseon’s oldest unmarried woman’ and Lee Yul, the amnesiac Crown Prince, develops over the span of 100 days. – credit My Drama List
